Carl Hollitscher and Cynthia Strahm join Nordea Asset Management’s team in Switzerland. They will serve institutional clients.
Nordea Asset Management (NAM) is entering the institutional business in Switzerland and welcomes two new members to the team as of 1 May 2024. Carl Hollitscher will become Head Institutional Clients Switzerland, Cynthia Strahm will support him as Senior Relationship Manager.
Carl Hollitscher has more than 20 years of experience in the institutional business. Before joining NAM, he held senior positions at Franklin Templeton, Western Asset Management, Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch. He studied business administration and law at the University of St. Gallen and completed additional training in the areas of sustainable finance and corporate governance.
Cynthia Strahm has been working in the asset management industry since 2010. She has been serving institutional clients in Switzerland since 2014, most recently at Vontobel Asset Management and Credit Suisse. She was previously at Goldman Sachs. She holds a Master’s degree in Banking and Finance from the University of St. Gallen.
This expansion of the Swiss business is a response to the increasing demand from institutional clients for ESG and decarbonization solutions, but also for multi-asset strategies and traditional funds. To date, NAM has been primarily active in the wholesale sector in Switzerland and has been able to build up an extensive client base consisting of banks, insurance companies and independent asset managers since entering the market in 2005.
The establishment of the new institutional sales team and the recent appointments of Cristian Pappone as Regional Head of Institutional and Wholesale Distribution, Switzerland and Austria, Valerio Tschopp as Sales Manager and Frederic Niamkey as Sales Director underscore the importance of the Swiss market for NAM.
NAM is a leading asset managers in the field of responsible and sustainable investment solutions. In the recently published Hirschel & Kramer Responsible Investment Brand Index 2024, NAM is ranked fourth best in the world. NAM was also recognized by Nasdaq eVestment in its 2024 Brand Awareness Ranking for achieving top brand recognition among multi asset strategies.
